Peace out. if i'm motivated i'll post something up before the 5th of september (departure day). if not its peace out. keep my blog warm. Don't do anything (too) interesting with your lifes. Don't miss me too much (no sarcasm there, for real). You know the addy, u know the number. Peace out (again).

This hot girl in my class got posted there too. ha, ha.

Too me. This is your chance to become truly Nigeria. The time to escape a Lagos-centric view of Nigeria. The time to see how millions of other people live. Thi will be an adventure for you, a chace to grab life by the horns and ride it. Do things that inner city Lagos would never have afforded you. Talk to people, learn about them, let them learn from you. Above all return with your hair slightly greyer, grey with wisdom. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. Bon chance.

Brilliant stuff!
But you should really bitch less about the cards you're dealt. I served in KT and it was not that bad. I mean, sure I had malaria/typhoid off and on for about 4 months towards the end there, but it was a life changing experience.
Among the many highlights of my NYSC experience are: The Day The Lodge Stood Still(there was a huge monitor lizard in the grass at the back), The Matrix Revolutions (my room mate was deranged and hormonal; she skipped around in her own alternate reality), The Curious Case fo Uche's missing Button(not such afunny story; I was forced to hold my shirt closed all the way to Daura that day!) among others.
never seen the Machinist. I loathe Christian Bale; something about that lisp just grates on my nerves...
And yes, I am an unabashed comic book geek, so I totally agree about the rape of Stan Lee's creative vision. the Xmen movies are SO FAR divorced from the comic books its unbelievable!

BTW, if you're drifting into an eating disorder, you'd best get it out of your system BEFORE NYSC; things are going to kind of suck ass for a while, so why not enjoy your life while you can?

Oh, good advice I got: always, ALWAYS shake your clothes before you get into them; scorpions are common. When you go into your room, open the door and swing it quickly back towards your body; the backdraft will dislodge any unwanted insect life. Wear your army boots when going out at night; snakes may be strolling too. Do not make eye contact with camels; they spit accurately as far as 6 feet. And take your supplements. Every. Single. Day. Oh, and visit Niger. Finally, avoid buying suya at Kofar Kaura Gate(Shaky memory here); they just might give you donkey meat.
Good luck
